Prototype — not yet a legal notice

We collect as little as possible.

This statement describes our commitments in plain language while Casa Francis is still a prototype. A formal privacy notice under Italian and EU law will be published, and reviewed by a lawyer, before any real data is collected.

What this prototype does today

  • ○No form on this site transmits or stores your data. Requests, family registrations and support forms are demonstrations only.
  • ○No payment is processed and no financial information is collected.
  • ○Your language choice is stored in your own browser and nowhere else.

What we will collect, and only that

  • ○For a stay request: preferred and flexible dates, length, number of guests, country, language, accessibility needs, dietary needs and interests.
  • ○Optional free text about what draws you here — always optional, never required.
  • ○For the diaspora register: surname, approximate departure period, destination, and anything your family chooses to share.

What we will not collect

  • ○Health records, diagnoses or clinical detail beyond the practical access and dietary needs of a stay.
  • ○Anything you say in a conversation with a friar or a Maestro. Those conversations belong to the people having them.
  • ○Behavioural profiles, engagement scores or any data collected to make you use the app more.

Consent, photographs and families

  • ○No photograph or recording of an identifiable person is published without that person's permission, and for minors, the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • ○Family material submitted to the diaspora register stays private until a person confirms it may be shown, and can be withdrawn at any time.
  • ○Consent is specific and revocable: agreeing to one use is not agreeing to all of them.

Limits on artificial intelligence

  • ○AI may help with translation, subtitles, accessibility, archives, cataloguing and scheduling.
  • ○AI is never used to infer your mental health, religious beliefs, emotional vulnerability or spiritual condition.
  • ○There is no AI friar, priest, spiritual director or substitute for a human conversation, and there never will be.

Your rights

  • ○When Casa Francis operates as a legal entity under Italian and EU law, you will be able to access, correct, export, restrict and delete your data, and to object to a use of it.
  • ○Requests will be answered by a person, in your language, at privacy@casafrancis.org.
