Living traditions
Music. Cucina. Restauro.
Three traditions that only survive when someone learns them from someone else. At Casa Francis they are not performances. Visitors take part in the work of the house.

Musica
Music is how a place remembers itself.
Songs carried through families, played in the evening by people who never called themselves musicians. Guests are invited to listen, then to join — badly at first, which is the point.

Cucina
A recipe is a form of memory.
Bread, pasta, oil, the garden, the long table. Cooking here is not a demonstration for guests; it is the ordinary work of feeding a house, done together with the people who have always done it.

Restauro
Craft is knowledge that lives in the hands.
Stone, wood, plaster, textile, paper. A Maestro shows the movement, corrects the grip, and waits. Nothing about this can be transmitted at a distance.
